I also think that congressmen should not have full pay for life, solely based on the fact that they are elected civil servants. Should other elected civil servants receive pay for life? No way! Most of these politicians go on to work for other companies after stints in Washington anyways. These guys don't make a paltry salary anyways, the end up making around $10,000 a month anyways post taxes. I've been ranting more and more lately.....
