“Two Opportunities To Get Involved This Monday”
#1:
What: “The Cause,” a brand new Conservative political action group.
When: Every Monday from 5:30-7:00 PM.
Where: Sir Edmond Halley’s Restaurant, inside the Park Road Shopping Center (4151-A Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28209); www.halleyspub.com
Details: This exciting club will become involved in local, state, and national political movements for the Conservative cause. Each meeting will have an “educational aspect,” complete with a lesson on American History, the Constitution, etc. We will then plan events/activities for members of “The Cause” to become involved in supporting those missions/movements that are important to the Conservative base. Sir Edmond Halley’s has graciously offered the use of a private room for this meeting without charge. If attending, please be respectful toward their generosity, and be courteous by purchasing a drink, appetizer, sandwich, meal, etc. This is not required, but it will help us show our gratitude. Thanks!
#2:
What: “The Thirsty Quill” Roundtable #2
When: This Monday from 7:15-ish until……
Where: Sir Edmond Halley’s Restaurant, inside the Park Road Shopping Center (4151-A Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28209); www.halleyspub.com
Details: Come out and meet some of the personalities and frequent contributors from “The Thirsty Quill.” This “open roundtable” will give you the opportunity to voice your opinions in a face-to-face setting. We will discuss and debate (very tamely) political issues and current events. People from various backgrounds, political parties, and ideologies will attend, so don’t be afraid if you think that your ideas are not like those of ‘The Quill.’ Everyone’s voice will be respected and appreciated! Sir Edmond Halley’s has graciously offered the use of a private room for this meeting without charge. If attending, please be respectful toward their generosity, and be courteous by purchasing a drink, appetizer, sandwich, meal, etc. This is not required, but it will help us show our gratitude. Thanks!

It was nice to see all the new faces at Sir Edmunds, truly a hidden Charlotte treasure, I enjoyed speaking and listening to the good folks who stayed over from the (Cause/Caucus) I always love getting a broader understanding of why good people are the way they are. Corey, lets hope this is just one of many of these open forums. For all those I met, please come back out d for all those like Rodney who missed it: please come out next time. In Rodney’s defense San Juan is soooo far away. But excuses are like liberals tendencies, we all have them and they all lead to socialized medicine.
Till next time my friends….

I really enjoyed all aspects of last night’s events… from the history to the respectful debate, a one of a kind group. I hope we can continue to evolve this next time to possibly include a greater liberal presence (Andy was great, but he really is a closet conservative and just won’t admit it), and narrow it down to local issues for one session (as I said last night, the lines between conservative/liberal really seem to disappear when talking city/county/school board politics).
Had a great time…

I agree, Tariq, about the local politics. What a great big old world we have out there!! Our group seems to have individuals who understand international, national, state, and local issues. I listened to Pete Calloner, my favorite right now, on my ride home and afterwards. Judge Bill Belk was on with him as well as Natalie ? from NC Court Watch. I am remaining open to hear more discourse on the subject of family court. As is everything involving anything, there is always more to the story than we hear and see in the media. Those tangled webs start early in a process, and the whole and complete story with motivation are often never exposed. Hemingway said of his writing. My stories are not unlike an iceberg, 1/8 is above the water and the other 7/8 is beneath. I like that metaphor!! How well it applies to our pursuit as citizens who wish to be informed. Let us remain diligent and vigilent as we sally forth!!

OK, everyone, I have a verb/subject missuse in the above note to Tariq. Please correct to “The whole and complete story with motivation IS often never exposed.” Please correct mentally. And so it goes… El
