Corey, I find it great that you shared this moment with us. I found myself pondering sometime Monday afternoon if the students I often interact with had any grasp of what the day's significance is. We've watered down the importance of such things, especially to the coming generations.

I am proud to know you Corey and I could not agree with you more. If we as Americans could stack the things we take for granted up beside our deficit I am pretty sure the deficit would look small in comparison. There is no perfect system; there is no magic potion that can keep a Nation as diverse and progressive as ours safe while upholding the values and ideals of our freedoms and rights. It comes as does any worth while thing with a price. That price has more often than not been paid by someone who has volunteered to serve. I commend you for being an educator and I commend the spouces, children, parents, and service men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice defending this, the greatest of home lands.

Corey, they're just being kids. Seniors in high school often do not think of anything but their coming graduation. I wouldn't worry too much about it. From my experience, America is a greatly patriotic country from January 1 to December 31. I think it is absolutely incredible how much America has changed from the anti-military protests during the Vietnam War, to American's willingness to show their overall support for our troops despite the fact that they are fighting in a vastly unpopular war.

I, along with most Americans, am honored by our men and women who have not only willingly volunteered their time, effort, and knowledge, but also their lives in order to keep an ideology established in 1776 and the nation that abides by it, safe and secure.
