***(Editor’s Note: In an effort to promote more dialogue among our readers, “The Thirsty Quill” will run a special series entitled “Open Court.” Typically these questions/prompts will run in conjunction with a controversial issue or ‘hot topic,’ while others may be entirely random and cover a more obscure subject altogether. Regardless, the aim of these questions/prompts will be to encourage more debate, dialogue, and discussion among readers of ‘The Quill.’)***

“Open Court” Question:

This past week, “The Thirsty Quill” held its inaugural face-to-face political roundtable/discussion group. This was the “masked” topic of the 2-part series entitled “Putting A Name With A Face.”

Looking ahead, we’d like to invite all of the writers, readers, and participants of ‘The Quill’ to join in these meetings. We want more of you to be involved, regardless of your ideology or political affiliation. These meetings, held in Charlotte, will be designed to promote HEALTHY debate and political discourse on a wide range of topics.

Meeting #1 was indeed the “trial run.” In the coming months and years, we hope to have the opportunity to meet again, and again, and again. We won’t meet every week, but we will meet enough to keep the conversation going…and the debate raging…for the good of everyone.

If you are interested in joining us, or if you have any ideas or suggestions for improving this project in regard to format, times, and/or locations, please feel free to post your ideas here, or email me at corey@thirstyquill.com.

We look forward to hearing from you, and if we’re lucky enough, sitting down and finally putting a face with a name.
