Haha Corey...I highly doubt I'm qualified to write anything of substance regarding politics right now. I spend most of my time talking to a 2 year old and it weakens the brain cells pretty significantly (unless, of course, you want an article on potty training, temper tantrums or Elmo). Let me 'exercise' my mind a bit and I'll get back to you...

Marsha,

Thanks so much for the nice comments. It's great to know that someone beside my Mom, my wife, and those who disagree with me are actually reading this stuff!

Seriously, 'The Quill' has an amazing audience out there, and we love to hear from everyone. Many people even choose to contact us offline via email, facebook, etc. The response over the past 2(+) months has been unbelievable.

As for being a good student for the history lessons, I have to admit that I am learning a great deal in doing the daily research on these guys. And don't worry, we're about to transition into more and more "current issues" here in the next few days now that the Inauguration is over and President Obama is now in office.

Again, I sincerely appreciate your feedback. It means a lot. So, when will 'The Quill' be graced with your first article???????????????

Corey,

As a person who typically watches all the 'action' on blogs rather than engaging in them (as I'm sure many readers do), I just wanted to take the opportunity now to finally comment and let you know that I am an avid reader of this blog and have in fact, read EVERY entry and EVERY comment. I have especially enjoyed my daily history lesson on the Presidents (and am so glad you finally started putting their years of service in parentheses by their names...very helpful). The Presidential quotes are interesting and insightful and I agree with Andy that Hoover sounds like a pretty likable guy having said some of my favorite quotes so far. Throughout my entire schooling, I always took my history lessons for granted, preferring to live in the 'here and now' and daydream about the future, without truly appreciating that our past history always lays the groundwork for things to come. So, I am trying to be a good student now. I guess you're never too old to learn something new, huh?

Oh, and I'm not getting so wrapped up in the history lessons on this site to take for granted the knowledge to be gained on our current political atmosphere as well even though I tend to walk the middle line rather than stand squarely on the side of a Republican or Democrat.

Keep up the good work Corey and may the debates rage on...

Hoovers quotes certainly show a lighter side of him. He kind of sounds like a likable guy. I love the quote:
“The President ought to be allowed to hang two men every year without giving any reason or explanation.”
A man has to be pretty loose and confident to say that. Another quote from his era came from Babe Ruth when questioned about the fact he was going to make more money than President Hoover during the depression, said Ruth, "I had a better year than he did" Great stuff.
