“Inauguration Update #7″

By: Josh McGrath, Columnist

(Tuesday morning 2:30 AM)

This is what is going through my head:

Its 2am, I fell asleep at 11pm, and outside my bed is freezing cold air. Believe me, the last this I want to do is get up. Since Friday morning, I have gotten a total of 13 hours of sleep. That’s a little over 3 hours of sleep for 4 nights in a row.

To make things worse, I’ve had NO coffee, and have eaten mostly “fast-food” since Friday. That’s a lot of “fast-food” for someone who typically does eat any.

Typically, when you get 3 hours of sleep at night. You are cranky and unfriendly. But today, you take 60 Wingate students who averaged 3 hours of sleep between them, and not a single person is cranky. Not a single person is upset, or angry, or complaining. Like him or not, that is what Obama does. He unites us. He gives us hope at a time when our country is lacking it, and gives us a dream our country needs.

Anyway, traffic yesterday was supposedly backed up for 80-miles heading into DC. This inauguration is a big deal. I will be watching history in the making. This is the reason I’m suffering. This is the reason I’m stretching myself. This is the reason my thumbs are sore typing all these messages from my phone. Today will be one of the biggest news stories in America’s history.

You are a part of it.
