I appreciate the change in Andy's tone. Really, coming from NY, I don't miss the word, 'bullcrap' and would value its loss from the American conversation. I think most liberals would have disavowed his comments based on their vulgarity.

Dear Corey and the esteemed members of the Quill. Please allow me to offer my apologies for the rather unorthodox way I replied to your post. I intended to post it as a stand-alone and being that I lost my quill password I just piggybacked Corey’s piece in "Serving the Sentence.... Anyways, I appreciate you inviting me to post.

Now I will admit that I was in a defensive stance when I posted this, which is what I think many passionate conservatives do when they post their points of view. I think the pot calling the kettle black is a bit of a reach. My post is hardly stoking the radical coals of a political ideology. And Corey, I never meant to insinuate that you had ever compared Obama to Hitler. I am surrounded by ultra conservative peers every day and because I don’t agree with allot of them I end up finding it hard to have a normal conversation with most of the folks I work with that does not end up in some type of verbal attack. So that is why I was defensive, I get un-nerved when I hear a talking head question peoples patriotism or refer to people as stupid or dumb as a box of rocks just for having a different opinion. I look forward to many more debates held here and on other blogs that allow us to speak up about our beliefs with out being dismissed as anything less than a concerned American.

First and foremost I would like to thank Corey for writing his column. Although Andy may disagree, I feel obligated to give my opinion.

1) Those of us who do not want a one party congress, house and leader feel VERY strongly about it and are not necessarily looking forward to the next two to four years. The opinions given and that are discussed are those of which we are, for lack of better words, 'getting ready for' from the Obama administration. The only difference between Corey and Andy is that Corey has decided to write his opinion down and share with those of us who subscribe to the Quill.

2) Obama is not, please let me repeat -not- from a straight African American heritage. He is of Kenyian (not African) and Caucasian races combined, with his father being Kenyian (from Kenya) and his mother Caucasian (from Kansas): http://www.notablebiographies.com/news/Li-Ou/Obama-Barack.html

Should anyone not agree with what has been written, well that is their view point and opinion. However, there are those of us who do agree with Corey; thus that is why we are here.

And yet here is another thought to put out there for those who do infact read the comments: There are more people than just Corey who believe that Obama is the next person to bring socialist ideas to America, like Hitler. What is your view point?

"That’s what America is all about…and ‘your side’ (the liberal Democrats) became experts at that practice over the past 8 years…now that the shoe is on the other foot, certainly you don’t expect us to just sit around silently?…or, do you???" Well Said Corey.

Apparently Andy doesn't have MSNBC or CNN at his house, or has he ever listened to Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, Pelosi, and the rest of the Dem's in Congress or these words wold have never been typed.... "But do me a personal favor and stop getting the radical bases fired up by citing baseless rhetoric".... Pot, let me introduce you to kettle.

Andy:

I normally don't reply directly to the comments, as I say what needs to be said in my posts.

Thanks for sharing your views. I genuinely appreciate your participation, even though we see things from the total opposite end of the spectrum. Your opinion is always valued at 'The Quill,' and always will be.

I don't believe I ever called Obama "Hitler," not would I EVER imply such a statement. To do so would be historically inaccurate and entirely irresponsible on my part. As a teacher of history, I could NEVER draw such comparisons.

I do find it strange however, that many of your fellow extreme left-wingers DID make similar accusations about George W. Bush for the past 8 years.

Andy, if you read my posts "Where We Go From Here" (11/5) and "Dear Mr. President-Elect Part 2" (11/10), you'll see that neither I, nor 'The Quill,' wish anything but the best for Mr. Obama. His success is tied to America's success, regardless of political affiliation. As an American, I wouldn't dare wish my President anything but absolute success.

I will however, as a participant in the political process exercising my 1st Amendment rights, be very quick to speak my mind and 'call it like I see it.'

That's what America is all about...and 'your side' (the liberal Democrats) became experts at that practice over the past 8 years...now that the shoe is on the other foot, certainly you don't expect us to just sit around silently?...or, do you???

Thanks again Andy.

Coey. I love you man. Can I get milk with a side of milk? What are you really getting at? I know how reserved you are being and I undrstand why. I couldn't figure out how to log in so I will retort via paste:

You haven't lead, you will not follow, get the hell out of the way!

I am speaking directly to Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, and Rush Limbaugh. We have been through the 90s and you know what, the only parts of the 90's that sucked were listening to you. Stop with your Marxist, Socialist, Narcissist, Bull Crap. Just Stop. If I hear Glenn Beck tell his fellow haters that their neighbors are: "Dumb as a box of rocks, Indifferent about Slavery, or scared to death again, I will lose my mind. Seriously! How are you going to sit through the last eight years (not admit to any errors) and blindly dole out all this hate? Get out of my ear with all that bull crap. I lived trough the 90's I remember how, though it was all good, you made it seem like their was ultra scandalous stuff going on. HE LIED! the 45-year-old Virgin Cries.... Yeah, would you be anxious to admit that you let an intern test the oval pipes? Stop it. Stop it.

I could not for the life of me understand why so many people kept giving hate speech to Presidential Elect Barack Hussein Obama, until I started listening to these Hate Mongers every day. That is correct right-winger; I listen to the other side also. What I do know is that while I listened to Glenn Beck rag on the United Auto Workers for an hour today, Air America had one of the higher ranking members of the (UAW) asking Americans to consider Patriotic Purchasing while citing statistics that showed CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) is higher over all on GM, Chrysler, and Ford, than Toyota.

My point is whether you have accepted the Right wing High Jacking of evangelicals, the right wing distortion that Democrats are after your guns, or that (and most amusing of all) that left wing democrats are trying to quell your freedom of speech with the fairness doctrine:

STOP!

You had your time. You voted for the biggest failure (you who know me best know the term I mean) of all time. Don’t get me wrong, he would have made a great, and I mean great commissioner of baseball. But the fact is any normal (undoctrinated person) cant really sit through this crap of (Hitler was elected democratically), or (He's setting up a militia to fight our Army on our own shores) What the HELL is wrong with you people? Seriously! You’re out of your mind. Your twisted ideology and misguided fears are overlooking the obvious and most inspiring part of this whole deal.

1. The horse of corruption is out of the barn. Are you so arrogant that you think your cynicism outweighs the political capital the democrats have acquired due to republican screw-ups? Seriously?
Do you think Dems are so hell bent on proving you right that they will screw up all this political capital to be corrupt? Or worse Marxist? COME ON! Get real.

2. We are on the cusp of a genuinely beautiful moment in history where America, land of the free home of the slave, has elected an (Original descendant of an African/ American) as President of the United States and instead of feeling good about how great democracy is you choose to ring your hands and cast all this bogus, disingenuous, crap sandwich every day.

So to summarize: You did not lead. You will not follow. Do all of America a big favor and continue to express your wide range of views. But do me a personal favor and stop getting the radical bases fired up by citing baseless rhetoric. It is dangerous and un-necessary as we are moving in a sound direction. We are moving out of the quagmire, the last thing we need is your annoying,"Obama is Hitler" Speech. Thank you.
