Not even allowing the dust to settle on John McCain’s campaign for President of the United States, “The Thirsty Quill” began piecing together a transition strategy of its own late Tuesday night. As McCain exits the national political scene, so enters President-Elect Barack Obama into a position of power and influence unrivaled by any seat or office in the modern world.

In the coming days, ‘The Quill’ will take a three-pronged approach in its political assessment:

First, ‘The Quill’ will evaluate how this election was won, how it was lost, and how the balance of power in Washington has now tipped faster than The Titanic on a cold, April night in the North Atlantic.

Second, ‘The Quill’ will begin to analyze and foreshadow the imminent Obama Administration, its plans and promises, and how such ideology will impact the American landscape in the coming months and years.

Finally, ‘The Quill’ will call upon the Conservative voices of America to regroup, reaffirm, and reunite under our common ideals, and to vow to press forward with a renewed sense of urgency for America’s future.

While the time for “change” (according to the majority) has arrived at America’s doorstep, let us not have our spirits broken or disparaged in our fight for our ideals and values. As Americans, “The Thirsty Quill” encourages everyone, regardless of political ideology and party affiliation, to unite as one nation behind our newly elected leaders. The challenges that await our attention are not Republican or Democrat, nor are they Conservative or Liberal. They are American challenges, and we must all come together to face them with courage.

However, make no mistake, “The Thirsty Quill” will strive in the days, months, and years that follow, to help usher in a new era of “change” as well. You see, this is not an end to The Republican Party, nor to the Conservative movement. It is, in fact, a new beginning for our side of the aisle too.

“The Thirsty Quill” invites you to remain focused and committed to the challenges that await our ideology, our beliefs, and our core values. They, just like our divided nation and our bruised party, are in need of more of your enthusiasm today, than in any day ever before.

And as we close this chapter in our ideological history tonight, we greet tomorrow’s sunrise and change by a renewed affirmation in who we are, in what we believe, and what we’ll be fighting for first thing in the morning…

It's Still There
